The growth in sales of cars with automatic transmission in Russia
According to the analysis of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, in the 1st quarter of 2020, almost 237 thousand cars with automatic transmission (AT) were sold in Russia. This represents 63% of total sales of new passenger cars. According to agency experts, over the reporting period, sales of vehicles with ATs grew faster than the Russian market as a whole (+ 9% and + 2%, respectively). As a result, their share for the year increased immediately by 4 percentage points (in the 1st quarter of 2019, it amounted to 59%). Recall that the market share of passenger cars with AT in our country over the past 4 years exceeded 50%, gradually approaching 60%. Now this line has been overcome, and the achieved indicator (63%) is a record.
