The South Korean premium brand is set to unveil its updated Genesis G70 sedan, while, contrary to statements by company representatives, the novelty may lose a manual transmission, which should have been available until 2021.
Manual transmissions are dying as fewer people in Europe and the United States buy them, eventually prompting automakers to ditch the option from their lines. A Genesis spokesman confirmed this statement to ABC News when discussing the G70 in an issue on manual transmission trends. Earlier it was assumed that the share of "mechanics" accounts for about 4% of sales of the G70, but the manufacturer reported that the real figure is even lower.
